Alicia Matthews

Alicia Matthews is a Glasgow based artist currently working in sound design and composition. Alicia has a background in Sculpture having studied at the Glasgow School of Art and the Royal College of Art.The erratic and often jarring works of her solo musical endeavour (SUE ZUKI) have been aptly dubbed “Rhythm and Gloom”. These soundscapes and loose scathing narratives were brought to the Tate Modern last year year where they were performed as part of the NTS Tate Late series. Research for her works are often included in her monthly radio show (aired under the same moniker) where she explores industrial, no wave, spoken word, techno and metal alongside samples from popular media, news and culture. Other projects include Organs of Love (Optimo Music) and LAPS (Clandestine Recs, MIC Recs).
